Comments: This vine grows in the wild in Japan and Korea. It is a vigorous climber that quickly reaches the tree tops. Its seeds were first brought back from Japan in 1875 by Mr. and Mrs. Coignet, after whom the species was named in 1883. The leaves have a spectacular red colour in autumn. The dark purple berries are small and not really edible.
